Course Content

• AM - CPR (adult, child, infant) Defibrillator (AED) use. Choking (adult, child, infant) Life-threatening bleeding, including when to use an arterial tourniquet and shock
• PM - burns, fractures, dislocations, soft tissue injuries, poisoning, and medical emergencies such as heart attacks, asthma, stroke, and seizure.

Prerequisiter & Requirements:

• Must complete and find competent in Basic Life Support (Am session of Day 1 / unit standard 6402) to complete Providing First Aid (PM session of Day1 / unit standard 6401)
• Physically fit to do demonstrate CPR on the floor and level of literacy to complete written component of the assessment.
• I acknowledge that all attendees have met the above pre-requisites in order to participate in this training

Course Content

• Head injuries, Spinal injuries, Environmental conditions, Major injuries and Major incident.

Prerequisiter & Requirements:

• Day 2 is a half day starting at 9.30am to 1.30pm
• Must complete Day 1 and find competent to move forward to Comprehensive First Aid (Unit Standard 6400).
• Physically fit to do demonstrate CPR on floor and good level of literacy
• I acknowledge that all attendees have met the above pre-requisites in order to participate in this training

A culturally appropriate approach to mental well-being and crisis response.

• Mental Health First Aid Awareness (8hrs) - $175

Basic life support and emergency response techniques aligned with current guidelines.

• Basic Life Support First Aid (4hrs) - $80

Focused on Pacific communities, covering chronic conditions and emergency care.

• Health Literacy Workshop - $80

This course is recommended for people who work with children aged 0–8 years, including early childhood educators, caregivers, parents, whānau, and community workers. It is also suitable for anyone seeking comprehensive child-focused first aid training.

The training meets the minimum qualification requirements for workplace first aiders and provides practical, confidence-building skills to respond effectively to emergencies involving infants and young children.

This course is eligible for NZQA Unit Standards:

• 6401 – Provide first aid for life-threatening conditions

• 6402 – Provide first aid for non-life-threatening conditions

On successful completion, participants will:

• Receive a Child First Aid Certificate

• Gain NZQA credits (where applicable)

• Hold a certificate that is valid for two (2) years
